  • Poetry Live at Bristol Beacon On Wednesday 21st January, our Year 11 and Year 12 Literature students attended the Poetry Live event at Bristol Beacon an inspiring and enriching experience for all involved. Students were thrilled to hear from a range of renowned poets, including Carol Ann Duffy, Imtiaz Dharker, Owen Sheers, Simon Armitage (current Poet Laureate) and John Agard . Each poet shared powerful insights into poetry, language and interpretation, bringing their work to life through discussion, performance and humour. The event was particularly valuable in supporting preparation for GCSE English Literature Paper 2, helping students deepen their understanding of poetic techniques, context, imagery and comparison . Students returned feeling inspired, motivated and more confident in their approach to poetry. A fantastic opportunity that truly brought poetry beyond the classroom! #PoetryLive #EnglishLiterature #GCSEEnglish #AlevelEnglish #LoveOfPoetry #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #StudentEnrichment #BristolBeacon
