"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." – Dr Seuss
Literacy is at the heart of everything we do and we hope to encourage all students to develop a life-long love of reading.
All our students are automatically a member of our library meaning that they can borrow books at any time.
Miss Dillingham, our full time librarian and teaching assistant, is available throughout the day to assist students within the library. No matter what you are interested in, she will find something that you will enjoy.
All our Year 7 students are enrolled onto the Accelerated Reader programme and enjoy a specific reading lesson a week as part of their timetable. This allows them access to a wide range of books whilst also allowing us to support them with developing their reading and comprehension skills. Home can also be involved in supporting this program through the HomeConnect link where you can find out about how your child is progressing.

As part of our curriculum, we understand that some students need some extra support with developing their literacy skills. Our Literacy Development Team identify these students early on in Year 7 to provide them a phonics program. This program is intended to provide the support required to allow them to access the curriculum fully. However, for students who require further development, this support can be continued into Years 8 and 9.
