    Child Development

Child Development is studied at Key Stage 4 with the OCR examination board.

Students can achieve a Level 1 and Level 2 award - from a Level 1 grade Pass to Level 2 Distinction*. The course is 60% non-examined assessment (NEA) and spilt into 2 pieces of coursework. Students are able to research the set assignment tasks for a scenario, such as a nursery setting, and produce independent work from your findings. The examination is taken at the end of the 2-year course and is worth 40%. Students develop the essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to create the best conditions for a child’s development and well-being.
