What’s It All About?
This Pearson Level 3 BTEC National (AAQ) in Health and Social Care allows students to explore the core principles of health, wellbeing, and care practice. The qualification helps learners understand how care is delivered across different settings and stages of life, developing essential skills in communication, empathy, and problem solving.
Equivalent to one A Level, this course is ideal for students interested in progressing to higher education in areas such as nursing, midwifery, social work, or other health and social care professions.

How Is the Subject Taught?
Teaching combines theory with practical, applied learning. Students will take part in discussions, case studies, and scenario-based tasks to develop a strong understanding of health and social care contexts.
There are also opportunities for independent research, reflective writing, and applied assessment tasks, all designed to help students connect theory with real-world practice.

What Do I Need to Get Onto the Course?
Students are expected to have achieved at least a Grade 4 in GCSE English, and ideally in Biology or a science-related subject.
